From Route 495:
North or South take exit 23B from Rte 495 to Rte 9 West (towards Auburn and Worcester).
Continue west approximately 6 miles. Take a left at the traffic light onto South St. As you head up the hill you will see a University of Massachusetts sign on your left, take a left here and follow the access road to Chestnut St stop sign. Take a right at the stop sign, South Street Campus is located on the left hand side of the road.
From Route 290 or 190:
From Rte 190, take Rte 290 East. Stay on Rte 290 to the Rte 140 South exit. At the end of the ramp, take a right, follow this to downtown Shrewsbury. You will come to a set of lights, go straight through the lights, travel approximately 1 mile, take a right at the Rte 9 East sign. At the set of lights take a right onto South St. Heading up the hill you will see a University of Massachusetts sign on your left, take a left here and follow the access road to the Chestnut St stop sign. Take a right at the stop sign, South Street Campus is located on the left hand side of the road.
From Mass Pike-Boston Area:
Take Mass Pike West to Rte 495 North exit 11A to Rte 9 West towards Auburn and Worcester. Continue west approximately 6 miles. From Mass Pike Sturbridge-Springfield area:
Take the Mass Pike East to exit 10 in Auburn. Take Rte 290 East to the Rte 140 exit towards Shrewsbury. At the end of the ramp, take a right, follow this to downtown Shrewsbury. You will come to a set of lights, go straight through the lights, travel approximately 1 mile, take a right at the Rte 9 East sign. From Main Campus/Downtown Worcester Rte. 9 East:
Take Route 9 East over the Lake Quinsigamond Bridge. At third set of traffic lights after the bridge, bear left onto Maple Avenue (intersection marked by Fairlawn Shopping Center, Chili's Restaurant). Follow Maple Avenue to top of hill. Turn left at the maroon sign for University of Massachusetts Medical School Worcester Foundation Campus. The Hoagland-Pincus Conference Center is on the right.
From Route 9 West:
Westbound from Westborough Rte. 495: Proceed West past Route 140 in Shrewsbury, continue to the second stop light. This is Oak Street; there will be a bowling alley on the right. Turn Right on Oak Street, and proceed until you reach a stop sign. This is Maple Avenue. The entrance to the conference center is directly across the street. The Hoagland-Pincus Conference Center is the first building on the right.
From the Mass Pike (I-90):
Westbound from Boston: Take exit 11A to Route 495 North to Route 9 West.
Eastbound from Springfield: Take Exit 10 to Route 290 East.
From I-290:
Eastbound from Auburn: Proceed on Route 290 East to Exit 22 - Main Street, Shrewsbury. Take Exit 22, at end of ramp take a right onto Main Street.
Westbound from Marlborough: Proceed on Route 290 West to Exit 22 - Main Street, Shrewsbury. Take exit 22, at end of the ramp take a left onto Main Street.
Once on Main Street, Shrewsbury:
Proceed on Main Street through the first set of lights and up the hill. Take right onto Gage Lane (the first right after passing St. John's High School). Follow Gage Lane to the end. Turn right onto Maple Avenue. Proceed one-half mile, turn right at the maroon sign for UMMS Worcester Foundation Campus. The Hoagland-Pincus Conference Center is the first building on the right.

From West (via the Mass Pike):
Take the MassPike East to Exit 13 heading toward Natick. At first set of lights after leaving off ramp take a RIGHT onto Speen Street. Proceed to Route 9 East. Ramp is on LEFT and merge onto Route 9 East. Go through two sets of lights, and proceed to the Weston Road exit. At bottom of exit ramp, take a RIGHT onto Weston Road. Proceed approximately one mile to Central Street (you will see Wellesley College in front of you). Take a LEFT onto Central Street; go through one set of lights. Before second set of lights light, the driveway to the Library will be on your right. Parking is below or in back of the building.
Parking: Please park in the library's garage, and enter the building through the garage door. This is the only way to get into the library prior to 9am. You can get to the garage from Washington Street or via Cameron Street which runs alongside the library, off of Washington Street. The name of the training room is The Wakelin Room, which is one flight up from the garage. At the top of the stairs, wind around to the left (the rear doors of the library will be facing you). There is also an elevator at the garage level.

Take Massachusetts Turnpike (Rte. 90 East) into the city. The Columbus Avenue entrance to 20 Park Plaza is across the street from the garage, on the opposite side of where you drove in to the garage.
From the North
Take Rte. 93 South into city. Exit at Cambridge/Storrow Drive (Exit 26). Follow Storrow Drive towards the Back Bay. Take Copley Square exit on left. Take left turn onto Beacon St., then immediate right onto Arlington St. Follow 5 blocks to the Park Plaza Hotel and the intersection of Stuart St. 20 Park Plaza is in the rear half of the hotel. Turn left on Stuart to reach the Motor Mart Garage, which will be on your left. The Columbus Avenue entrance to 20 Park Plaza is across the street from the garage, on the opposite side of where you drove in to the garage.
From the South
Take Rte. 93 North into the city. Exit at Kneeland St./Chinatown (Exit 20). Follow signs for Downtown Boston. At lights, take left onto Kneeland St. Follow for 6 blocks (turns into Stuart Street). Stuart Street becomes one way until you have to take a right. Make a right on to Charles Street, stay in the left lane and take your first left onto Park Plaza. Make the first left. You can park at the Motor Mart garage immediately in front of you. The Columbus Avenue entrance to 20 Park Plaza is across the street from the garage.
Public Transportation - Subway
Subway Green Line
Arlington Station has been recently remodeled and is now fully accessible. On exiting the station, you will be near the corner of Arlington and Boylston Street at the southwest corner of the Public Garden. Head south, away from the Garden, about a half block down Arlington. Turn left onto Park Plaza. The office entrance is just after an Au Bon Pain café on your right.
Subway Orange Line
There are several station options, but we suggest the New England Medical or Back Bay Stations.
New England Medical:
Go out the Tremont St. exit and walk to the right. Cross Tremont Street, and you can cut diagonally across the small park. You will come to Charles St. intersection. Turn right on Charles. Go a couple of blocks and make a left on to Park Plaza. Follow Park Plaza, and the 20 Park Plaza building is directly in front of you.
Back Bay:
Go out the Clarendon St. exit at the far end of the station. Turn right, and then left on to Columbus Ave. Walk up Columbus Ave. two blocks. After you cross Arlington Street, 20 Park Plaza will be on your left.
Subway Red Line
Park St. station is about a 10-minute walk. Walk down Tremont St. to the end of Boston Common. Turn right on to Boylston St. Turn left on to Charles St. and then right onto Park Pl. Follow Park Pl, and the Park Plaza building is directly in front of you.
Commuter Rail - Back Bay Station
Several commuter rail lines that serve the areas south & west of Boston go into Back Bay. Follow Orange Line – Back Bay directions for these.
Commuter Rail - South Station
Several commuter rail Lines go into South Station, which is about a 15-minute walk. Coming out of the station, walk down Essex St. (a Boston Sports Club is at the corner of Essex St.) for several blocks. When you cross Tremont St., Essex St. becomes Boylston St. Follow Boylston to Charles St.. Turn left on to Charles and then take your next right on to Park Pl. Follow Park Pl, and the Park Plaza building is directly in front of you.
As an alternative you can take the Red Line (Alewife train) from South Station to Park Street, and the Green Line (B, C, D or E trains) from Park Street to Arlington St.
Commuter Rail - North Station
Several commuter rail lines go into North Station. From North Station, you can take the Green Line to Arlington St. (follow Green Line directions) or the Orange Line to New England Medical (follow the Orange line directions.)
